Fishing with a Ranger

Join us at the Boathouse for some morning fishing on Lake Raven.

Huntsville State Park was created to be a source of water recreation to the people of Texas and beyond. One of our more popular forms of recreation is fishing.

This is great for the first timers as a Park Ranger will set you up for the best success while fishing. We have poles and bait available for the program and will be chasing the popular Bluegill fish around their favorite spots. We will also talk about what you might want to bring with you on a fishing trip, what is required to fish in a state park and the ecosystem of our lake.

Anglers of all experienced welcome to join us "on-line" and in person at the Boathouse.

This program is low physical activity and is accessible. Please bring water, sun protection and wear weather and activity appropriate gear. Program is free with your day pass. Program is weather dependent, please follow us on social media for up-to-date information.
