Find out what they’re really worth during the 3rd Annual WYES ANTIQUES SHOWCASE with on Saturday, June 14, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at WYES located at 916 Navarre Avenue in New Orleans.
During the event, attendees may have items evaluated by antique experts and sit in on separate antique-related seminars (TBA). *See a complete list of antique items of what 'can' and 'cannot' be evaluated in FAQs below.
Prices are:
$45 General Admission which includes two items to be evaluated by an expert
$100 VIP includes front of line access with two evaluations
$20 Friend Of will allow entry into building.
Any adult who enters the building MUST have a ticket
All ticket prices include wine & light bites (including Friend of Event ticket)

How many items can I have evaluated during the WYES ANTIQUES SHOWCASE on Saturday, June 14?
Two items. Please note, anyone who enters the building MUST have a ticket.
Please have your Eventbrite ticket printed out and/or be ready to show your confirmation on your phone.
What time is the event?
10am-1pm
What are the ticket prices for each time slot and what does it include?
$45 General Admission — 2 items evaluated by an expert
$100 VIP — front of line access with 2 items
$20 Friend Of — don't have an item, but want to join in the fun & refreshments
All ticket prices include wine & light bites (including 'Friend Of' ticket)
Can I bring my child?
Yes. Please know there will alcohol served and that there are many valubale antiques everywhere. A child must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
What items can I bring in to be evaluated?
During the event experts in the following will be on hand to evaluate your item(s): jewelry, silver, decorative arts, fine books, art and sculptures, small pieces of furniture.
What if I have a large item?
Please note, for large items, only photographs are allowed. We consider a large item, something you cannot carry into WYES yourself. Please bring along with multiple, clear and crisp photos of your large item (1) the measurements, (2) any special markings, (3) maker/designer. Pictures of the front, back, and side of your item would be helpful.
What items will NOT be evaluated?
There will not be experts in the following, so therefore the following items are NOT allowed: guns or weapons; musical instruments; sports, entertainment or other memorabilia; ethnographic artifacts; tools; toys or dolls; textiles; comic books or magazines; natural history/taxidermy; ivory, rhinoceros horn or other materials from endangered species.
What should I do if I need help carrying my items?
Unfortunately, staff and volunteers are not permitted to carry or move items. You must be able to carry your own item to the appropriate expert’s table. No carts or dollies are permitted.
What can I do once my item has been evaluated?
You can attend any of our antique seminars (TBA). *Seminar seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
Can I bring my cell phone and take photos?
Yes, but please do not accept or respond to any calls or texts while you are meeting with an expert.
We encourage you to bring your phones and share photos of the event on your social media.

Will I be on TV?
This event is not part of the PBS “Antiques Roadshow” series. However, there will be cameras recording during the event.
Where can I park?
There is plenty of free parking in WYES’ parking lot. Plus, we are next to Delgado Community College and they are allowing us to use their parking lots for the day of the event. There is also plenty of street parking. Please be courteous to our neighbors and do not block any driveways.

Ever wonder what it takes to keep your antiques in tip-top shape? Join Greg S. Kowles, an experienced furniture restorer and specialist at New Orleans Auction Galleries, for a lively discussion on how to live with antiques and care for them over time. The talk will touch on some of the most frequently asked questions he has received throughout his decades-long career in the antiques business, as well as some fun stories, and conclude with an opportunity for questions and answers.

Charles C. Cage, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, moved to New Orleans in 1978 to attend Loyola University, by which time he had already spent a number of years working at his mother’s used bookstore. He continued to work in the book trade for an additional ten years before apprenticing at Gerald Katz on Royal Street, specialists in antique jewelry. After his apprenticeship, he worked for fifteen years at Dixon & Dixon on Royal, eventually becoming Vice–President of the Silver and Jewelry Departments. He joined New Orleans Auction Galleries in 2006 as in-‐house specialist on Silver and Books, Documents & Manuscripts. In addition to his duties at New Orleans Auction Galleries, he has served as consultant to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Cabildo, the Newark Museum and the Delaware Art Museum, and is currently engaged to catalogue the silver collection of the LSU Art Museum.

Join Claudia Kheel, an authority on Louisiana art, as she leads a talk on the French Quarter Renaissance. Claudia will discuss the emergence of the bohemian scene in the French Quarter during the 1920s, exploring notable artists and popular subject matter. Drawing on her extensive experience working in academia, museums and the auction world, Claudia will also share tips for both new and experienced collectors, and conclude with an opportunity for questions and answers.
