She began her professional career as a background vocalist for Jean Knight, famed for the hit Mr. Big Stuff, and later gained national recognition as a Top 20 finalist on Season 8 of NBCs The Voice. Boyd-Cannons 2016 album MUZIC Is Life received critical acclaim, landing in ten categories in the first round of Grammy consideration.
