Run Through History: 5K & 1K Race Benefiting Save Our Cemeteries

Previously scheduled for April 6, this race will now take place on June 1, 2025. If you registered for the race, your registration will be honored on June 1.

Lace up your running shoes and get ready for a race like no other! Join the Preservation Resource Center for a day of fitness, history, and fun at the Run/Walk Through History 5K & 1K, benefiting Save Our Cemeteries.

More than just a race—enjoy live music, delicious food, and cold beer! Bring the whole family and experience a unique event in one of the South’s most famous cemeteries.

Race through history as you wind through the storied paths of Metairie Cemetery, a former horse racetrack turned national landmark. Established in 1872, it’s the final resting place of Louisiana governors, military leaders, and cultural icons.

Every step you take supports historic preservation! Proceeds benefit Save Our Cemeteries, working to protect and restore New Orleans’ irreplaceable burial sites through advocacy, education, and restoration efforts.
