Dinner with a Curator: “Transforming a Neighborhood"

Visitors often wonder why a national museum dedicated to World War II is located in New Orleans. But the city’s connection to the war runs deep: it was here that local boatbuilder Andrew Jackson Higgins and his workforce at Higgins Industries designed and manufactured more than 20,000 essential landing craft that were used in every major amphibious assault in Europe and the Pacific. Join Museum Vice President of Education & Access Pete Crean as he discusses WWII-era New Orleans and the history behind the location of The National WWII Museum, highlighting the impact the Museum has had on the revitalization of the Arts & Warehouse District.

Dinner with a Curator is an evening of dinner and history hosted by The American Sector Restaurant & Bar culinary team and Museum professionals. Guests participate in discussion on a featured topic related to World War II, which is interpreted through the Museum's collection and a theme-inspired three-course dinner paired with beverage specials. Ticket sales end 48 hours prior to the start of the event.
