Please join us for a tour of Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve and the Thompson-Neely Grist Mill. This tour will visit both of these sites and go over the history of both locations and the relation back to Solebury Township.
Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve increases the knowledge and use of native plants by serving as an educational resource and destination that inspires conservation action. Originally set aside in October of 1934 as a living memorial to the American Revolutionary War soldiers camped nearby, it is currently the Nation's only accredited botanical museum dedicated to native plants. It's humble 134 acres are currently home to about 750 different native plant species.
The Thompson-Neely Grist Mill operates as a living history site within Washington Crossing Historic Park in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Visitors can learn about 18th and 19th century milling techniques and developments and about the Mill's Significant role in Early American Life and the economy of the region.The mill, along with the adjacent Thompson-Neely House served as an encampment point during Washington’s winter campaign of 1776-7.
Info: This tour will be broken up into two groups. Group 1 will start with a tour of BHWP and then the Mill. Group 2 will start with the Mill and then tour BHWP. Please purchase your tickets together if you would like to be in the same group.
