NSD Repertory Gears Up to Present Its Iconic Plays at Summer Theatre Festival 2025
The National School of Drama (NSD) Repertory Company the professional performing wing of NSD has announced its much-anticipated Summer Theatre Festival 2025 scheduled from 6 June to 13 July 2025. The 38-day festival will feature 11 landmark productions from the NSD Repertory’s celebrated repertoire along with a special musical evening titled Rang Sangeet.
This year’s highlight include Taj Mahal Ka Tender" written by Ajay Shukla and directed by Chittaranjan Tripathy will return after 25 years with key members of its first cast — including Chittaranjan Tripathy himself and popular TV anchor and actor Shrivardhan Trivedi — reprising major roles in the play. Another much-loved production Aadhe Adhure written by Mohan Rakesh and directed by Tripurari Sharma featuring lead first cast members Ravi Khanwilkar and Pratima Kazmi returning to the stage after 30 years.
The lineup also includes a soul-stirring musical evening—Rang Sangeet—dedicated to timeless compositions by NSD Repertory legends curated under the guidance of Shri Lokendra Trivedi. The musical compositions are part of Repertory’s productions since its inception.
The festival will open with Thieves' Carnival by Jean Anouilh directed by Avtar Sahni and will conclude with Samudra Manthan written by Asif Ali and directed by Chittaranjan Tripathy.

- AbhigyanaShakuntalam (based on Kalidasa’s Sanskrit classic) directed by Prof. Vidushi Rita Ganguly
- Bayen (by Mahasweta Devi) directed by Usha Ganguly
- Mai Ri Main Ka Se Kahun (adapted from VijaydanDetha’sPaheli) directed by Ajay Kumar
- Laila Majnun (by Ismail Chunara) directed by Prof. Ram Gopal Bajaj
- Band Gali Ke AkhriMakan (based on a story by Dharmveer Bharti) directed by Prof. Devendra Raj Ankur
- Babuji (based on a story by Mithileshwar) dramatised by Vibhanshu Vaibhav and directed by Rajesh Singh
- Andha Yug (by Dharamveer Bharati) directed by Prof. Ram Gopal Bajaj
- Taj Mahal Ka Tender (by Ajay Shukla) directed by Chittaranjan Tripathy
- AdheAdhure (by Mohan Rakesh) directed by Tripurari Sharma
