The New Castle color guard is seeking donations for their upcoming season. This season's show is called Paint It Black. One of the ways that the color guard team will be raising money is to do a dine to donate at Thats My Dogg. It will take place 1/13/26 from 5-8pm. They will have moments to interact with the community, while bussing tables, bringing food, and refilling glasses. If you as a reader are asking “where is thats my dogg”. I would say, “go to the arts park, and sniff for the mouth watering aroma.” More specifically they are located at 211 s 15th st. TMD will donate a percentage of the nights earnings to the color guard.
A bit about Thats My Dogg. I took the family there the other night, and it was the most amazing food I've ever had. It spoke to me, my soul and was filling as can be. As my great grandmother used to say. “Make you wanna get up and slap your momma's mouth.” or “habit forming.” It is worth every cent to have a meal there. Even more worth it to support your local color guard team!
This year the middle school and high school are combined with 13 total members. Last year the middle school finished with a gold at state, and the high school finished with 10th at state. The dine to donate will raise money for these fabulous young adults to go for gold again this year. The money raised is used for equipment such as flags, flag silks, rifles, uniforms, props. This year there is also the addition of a sabre line! If tossing a 8 pound ish rifle and catching it wasn't thrilling enough, now they are going to do it with swords! (I promise they are not sharp.) These young adults are putting in a lot of work to have an amazing year this year, and build on the tradition of excellence that has been paved by the previous years.
These young ladies and gentleman need the community's support and backing as they prepare for their season. What better way to support them than to have a meal of some of the finest food New Castle has to offer, talk with a few members of the guard and leave with a full stomach. When you get home, you can sleep off the food baby, in a food coma and be content knowing you're full, and that a percentage of your meal went to support the local color guard!
