Join us for an informal Q&A with writer/poet/actor Shadon Meredith to talk about producing a show for Fringe and beyond...
Shadon's show 'Waiting' premiered at the 2017 Nelson Fringe where it got a swag of awards, and has since been touring fringes throughout the motu. While we have Shadon in town for the A Sea of UPU Poetry Workshop (Wed 9 July), we thought we'd give you the opportunity to grill him about producing a fringe show.
Come along for an informal chat with Shadon about his experiences and advice about writing, acting and producing a show for fringe festivals.
Also on hand will be Festival Director Giles Burton and Operations Manager Jasmine Turner, who both have HEAPS of experience in producing fringe shows. This will also be a great chance to connect with other people thinking about doing a fringe show.
Shadon Meredith is a New Zealand-born Sāmoan actor with a commanding presence on stage and screen. He created and performed the solo show, Waiting, taking out a slew awards at the 2017 Nelson Fringe before touring nationally. His theatre work includes roles with Auckland Theatre Company, Red Leap Theatre and The UPU Collective. On screen, Shadon has worked on Rūrangi, Shortland Street, My Life is Murder, and Double Parked, as well as being a presenter and writer for TVNZ’s Toi Time. Film credits include Shut Eye, Darkest Light, and The Paragon, which premiered at major international festivals before gaining a cult following in the US.
