Get Your Jam On! A Weekend of Old-Time Music for Women in Beautiful Brown County
Dust off your stringed instrument and join us for Jamming in the Woods, a fun-filled weekend of old-time music, sisterhood, and nature in the heart of Brown County, Indiana! This workshop is designed for adult women of all skill levels, from seasoned jammers to those who've always wanted to try but never dared. We especially encourage beginners to come and discover the joy of making music with others in a supportive and encouraging environment.

What to Expect:
This isn't your typical stuffy workshop! We'll focus on learning by doing, with plenty of hands-on jamming, skill-building sessions, and opportunities to connect with other women who share your love of playing music. Whether you're looking to improve your timing, learn a new tune, or simply find your place in a jam circle, this weekend is for you.
Weekend Highlights:
Friday: Arrival and Welcome Jam! Settle in, meet your fellow jammers, and enjoy an informal evening of music and conversation.
Saturday: Dive into the heart of jamming! We'll have workshops focusing on:
Essential jamming skills and etiquette
The structure of a fiddle tune
Developing your rhythm and timing
What to do in a jam when you don’t know the song
Saturday Afternoon: Take a break from the music and explore the natural beauty of Brown County with a guided hike through the stunning scenery led by experienced guides.
Saturday Evening: More jamming! Put your new skills to practice in a relaxed and supportive jam session.
Sunday: We'll add some extra flavor to our musical weekend with:
A fun and easy flatfooting basics workshop – get your feet moving!
A final jam session to celebrate all we've learned and the connections we've made.
