2025 Nash 4-H Summer Fun

Age Requirements: are as of January 1st 2025

We are offering all age camps. Please check out the age requirements before signing your child up. Snacks are provided daily unless noted in the camp description. We look forward to a great summer of fun and learning opportunities!

Additional Information:

The location of the camps will be at the Nash County Cooperative Extension Center. If the camp takes place at another location, transportation is provided but will still meet at the Nash County Cooperative Extension Office or will be indicated in camp descriptions.

-Youth must be enrolled in 4-H Online to sign up (Link to 4-H Online 2.0: https://v2.4honline.com/). You MUST register as a 4-H Member not participant in order for your registration to be considered complete.

-Each camper is encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle.

-Each program will provide water and snacks.

-Youth will be required to adhere to the NC 4-H code of conduct.

- Youth must be at least 5 years old as of Jan 1, 2025 to participate in 4-H.

-There are no refunds unless the program has to be cancelled.

Camps:

Flying Drones in Agriculture

June 9th -11th

Cost: $25.00

Location: Agriculture Center-1006 Eastern Ave Nashville

Time: 9am-12pm

Ages: 8-18

Max: 10

Does your child have an interest in drones? This is a 3-day camp learning all about how to fly a drone and how to take crop pictures with a drone. Camp will be on site at the Agriculture Center learning how to operate the drone.

Fishing Camp

June 12th

Cost: $15.00 includes snacks, bait, and fishing rods

(you can bring your own rod)

Location: Universal Leaf pond off Hwy 58 in Nashville

(Transportation provided). Drop off at Nash County Agriculture Center-

1006 Eastern Ave in Nashville at 8:30am

Time: 8:30am-12pm

Ages: 7-up

This camp will be a 1/2 day of fishing and learning about different fish species found in our waters. Participants will learn from a local Biologist, and Wildlife Officers. Come and make some great memories with our Fishing Fun Camp. Lunch and snack included in the cost. Please bring a water bottle.

Cloverbud Chef’s Camp

June 17th

Cost: $20.00

Location: Agriculture Center- 1006 Eastern Ave Nashville

Time: 9am-12pm

Ages: 5-7

Are you interested in learning your way around the kitchen? This camp will teach youth 5 -7 years of age how to safely prepare a healthy meal. Youth will learn kitchen safety, food safety, knife skills, how to measure ingredients, and the importance of making healthy food choices. This is a hands-on camp and youth will get to taste the food they prepare.

4-H Culinary Camp

June 25th

Cost: $20.00

Location: Agriculture Center- 1006 Eastern Ave Nashville

Time: 9am-12pm

Ages: 8-18

Take your culinary skills to the next level. This camp will teach youth how to be creative in the kitchen. They will learn about different cooking techniques along with food safety, kitchen safety, and knife safety. This is a hands-on camp and the youth will get to taste the food they prepare.

4-H Craft Day

June 27th

Cost: $25.00

Location: Agriculture Center- 1006 Eastern Ave Nashville

Time: 9am-12pm

Do you like arts and crafts? This camp will let you get your creativity flowing as you make your own summer welcome mat. This will be a fun camp that lets you be you. So bring your creativity and let’s have a fun time being creative.

In Home Embryology

July 7th - August 1 Cost: $10.00

Pick- up equipment and eggs will be at the Agriculture Center/ 1006 Eastern Ave Nashville (9am-1pm) July 7th

Our Embryology Program is a long-standing 4-H program that provides children, of all ages, a hands-on-experience in the incubation period and hatching of chicks. The incubation period takes a total of 21 days for the chicks to hatch. Twelve fertile eggs, along with an incubator, thermometer, heat plate, chick food and complete instructions will be available at pick up.

Children and parents will be instructed to turn the eggs three times a day, maintain temperature and humidity daily until the chicks are ready to hatch. After hatching the chicks will have a few days with your family and then they must be returned along with the incubator and supplies to the Agriculture Center. Return date and time is set for August 1, 2025 9am-1pm

Sew it Begins

Beginners Class

July 7th - 10th

Cost: $35.00

Location: Agriculture Center- 1006 Eastern Ave Nashville

Time: 9am-12pm

Ages: 9-up

Max: 5

This is a four-day camp where participants will learn the very basics of sewing and operating a sewing machine. Participants will make an apron and, depending on how they progress through the initial apron project, a few other side projects may be done too. Snacks will be provided each day.

*Participants need to bring a working sewing machine, sewing machine needles and a basic sewing kit that includes sewing scissors, sewing pins, measuring tape, etc.

Sew You Can Sew?

Intermediate

July 7th - 10th

Cost: $35.00

Location: Agriculture Center- 1006 Eastern Ave Nashville

Time: 9am-12pm

Ages: 11-up

Max: 5

In this four-day camp intermediate youth will learn to make an apron and other small projects will also be made to take home if time allows. Participants must have completed the basic sewing camp or be a member of a sewing club or class. Snacks will be provided each day.

*Participants will need to bring a working sewing machine, and a complete sewing kit.

Cloverbud Dance it Out Fitness Class

July 16th

Cost: $10.00

Location: Agriculture Center- 1006 Eastern Ave Nashville

Time: 9am-12pm

Ages: 5 - 7

Max: 12

Do you love to dance, move your body, or just want to listen to music and have a good

time? Come join us for a fun-filled morning of dance! We will stretch our bodies,

discover new moves, practice foundational dance skills, and learn a creative dance

routine. We will also talk about the benefits of healthy eating and physical activity

whether it’s dance or something else entirely. All experience levels are welcome. It’s

time to dance it out!

July 23rd
