Sunday 5-course family style lunch with matching AARD WINES

You will meet Annabelle and Bart, the winemakers behind AARD WINES. A delicious lunch pairing will be prepared by two Hawke’s Bay hospitality legends, Julian & Scarlett, who are good friends with the winemakers and are more than familiar with their wines, land, and philosophy.

About Aard

Aard is the Flemish word for something’s true nature; its character or disposition.

We chose this name because it reflects our approach to winemaking: simplicity, care, and connection with the earth, allowing the vines to express themselves.

Aard began in 2023, when we made the move to Hawke’s Bay to farm at the vineyard where Annabelle grew up.

Our wines will never be fined, filtered, or have anything added except a small amount of SO2, which is only used in some wines when absolutely necessary.

They will always be made with organic, certified grapes that we have farmed ourselves, using biodynamic practices, and have a genuine connection with.
