Who are you? What is the world like? How do you see your role in your culture? And are the answers to all of these questions simply the inevitable consequence of economics and a commercially-driven media environment? Professor, author and actor Michael Gougis, creator of "The Syllabus," debuting at the Nanaimo Fringe Festival, presents "Media, Identity & Society." This Talkback session explores how our cultural storytelling has been turned over commercial interests, and how that has shaped our deepest ideas of who we are, what the world is like, and how we fit into it.
