Bannockburn Community Church, Muskoka - Hymn Sing & Worship Service, Sun. Aug. 24, 2025

For our season ending service our minister will be Rev. Hugh Reid from Stonegate Ministries in Etobicoke with our special music being provided by Mike Brine, vocals & piano. After the service there will be a pot luck lunch. All are welcome!

Rev. Hugh Reid retired in 2023 after 22 years as coordinating minister of Kingsway-Lambton United Church in Etobicoke, and for the past year has been serving as a half-time supply minister at the historic Central United Church in Weston (Toronto) and as Chaplain at the Stonegate Ministries Food Bank in Etobicoke. This is Hugh's sixth visit to Bannockburn dating back to 2010. Hugh is originally from Hamilton. He attended Victoria University U of T and Emmanuel College. Upon graduation with his Masters of Divinity, he received the Gold Medal and a Post-Graduate fellowship. Hugh has been married to Esther for forty-four years and they have two grown children, Heather and William. As well as being an excellent speaker, Hugh serves on the Board of Stonegate Ministries and the Chancellor's Council of Victoria College. In his spare time he is an avid, if flawed, golfer and occasional bridge player.

Mike Brine hails from near St. Marys, Ontario. He has been coming to Muskoka since 1985. He first sang at Bannockburn more than 15 years ago. Mike considers music to be a lifetime hobby. He plays in a Praise Band at Granton United Church on Saturday nights and lives on a farm with his wife Patty. They have two children, Matt and Kim.
