NEW TWIST: The hourglass award will be the official timing device. This is an experiment and I will bring the digital clock as well, but the hourglass award will be the official timer regardless of how accurate it is. If it works well we may transition to it exclusively.
Join us for the 2nd race in the Friday 5K series on June 13, 2025! Friday 5K is a unique foot race held on the first prime-numbered Friday of each month from May to September in Muskegon, MI. This race is not like any other 5K race you've participated in before. Participants are not allowed to wear any timing devices or technology, and instead must make a prediction for their finishing time based on their own abilities.
The race will take place at Beachwood Park in Muskegon, MI, and the starting line is located near the main parking lot. Participants can arrive any time prior to 7:30 PM EST, when the race ends, to ensure they have enough time to complete the race prior to the timing clock reaching zero. Most people arrive around 6:30 PM EST.
Participation is free, and there is no registration required. However, we do encourage voluntary contributions from those who are able to support our cause. All contributions will help cover the costs of the race, including equipment, and supplies. We'll also use the funds to purchase the unique hourglass trophy for the winner of each race, which is suitable for display.
