Upcoming auditions for “Tilly and The Time Machine” by The Murwillumbah Theatre Company will take place on Tuesday 17/06/2025 at 6.30pm.

The play is an adaption of a book written by Adrian Edmondson (Vyvyan the Punk on the 1980’s “The Young Ones”) and adapted and written for stage by David Thomas. It tells the tale of a young girl called Tilly and her search for her father (an eccentric inventor) through time and space in a mysterious Time Machine built by her father who is lost somewhere in time.

Some roles may be doubled up, for example: the characters of the two baddies could also play the servants if required and also some actors may be used as extras for some scenes as required.

Rehearsals will be twice a week …... usually Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays (This will be decided at the first read though when the cast is decided) and a few other added dates as we get closer to showtime.

There will be nine shows. The first two Friday shows will be for schools, and they will take place during the day at around 10am. So, school and work will need to be adjusted accordingly to those that need the notice. There will be two Saturday evening shows starting at 6pm for the children and three matinee shows on Sundays at 2pm for everyone.

During what we call “Bump-in” week, the week of opening, there will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday rehearsals, they will be longer evening sessions as preparation for lighting and sound have to be made and this is a bigger production so more time may be needed …. Just a warning, great things take time.
