May Lifeguard Prep Classes

This two-session class is designed for strong swimmers who are unsure if they can pass the lifeguard swim test. The classes are on May 18th & 25th, 3:45-4:30 pm.

The lifeguard swim test is
- swim 150 yards continuously with goggles
- Tread water for 2 minutes without your hands
- Swim another 50 yards continuously with goggles
- Swim 25 yards and retrieve a 10-pound brick from 7 feet of water then swim 25 yards back with the brick and get out in less than a minute and 40 seconds.

In this class, we will go over ways to improve lap swimming, turns, treading water, and surface dives. You will be given drills that you can practice on your own so you can further practice before the lifeguarding class starts.
