Lens, Scalpel, Sanctuary: Dr Panda’s passionate appeal to save wildlife

Mumbai is set to witness a powerful confluence of art, medicine, and conservation as Dr. Ramakanta Panda, world’s top cardiac surgeon and Chairman of the Asian Heart Institute, returns with his third wildlife photography showcase which is curated in two parts

- HEARTBEATS – Wildlife, Our Shared Future and

- The Birds of Amchi Mumbai

"Conservation is not just an ethical imperative—it is fundamental to the resilience of our communities and the health of our planet. We must act decisively to protect and restore biodiversity, recognizing that when nature flourishes, so do we," says Dr. Panda, whose compelling photographs highlight the fragile beauty of wildlife, forests, and the courageous protectors of our natural world. The exhibition presents evocative frames from India and Africa, celebrating animals, habitats. The Birds of Amchi Mumbai segment showcases 240+ bird species spotted across the MMR in recent years — from year-round residents to remarkable migratory visitors.

Exhibition Schedule:

26 November 2025 (Ground Floor Auditorium Hall) – 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM

27 November – 2 December 2025 (Auditorium Hall & Terrace Gallery) – 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Venue: Jehangir Art Gallery, Kala Ghoda, Mumbai

All proceeds will support ongoing wildlife and forest conservation efforts in India and Africa through the Asian Wildlife Trust (an initiative of the Asian Heart Institute).
