About the event

DARWIN FESTIVAL: Creek Connections
Discover the stories of Darwin’s creeks with Landcare NT

Darwin’s creeks are more than just waterways – they are living, breathing ecosystems, rich with cultural history, biodiversity and community connection.

Across August, join us for Creek Connections — a program of gentle gatherings beside our urban creeks. Through shared meals, creative listening and storytelling, we’ll honour the lifeblood of our landscapes and the communities they nourish.

Presented by Landcare NT

Listening with Country
Thu 14 Aug 6pm – 7pm

You are warmly invited to a gentle hour of listening with country beside one of our city’s beautiful creeks. This is a space, curated by James Mangohig and Nadine Lee, to slow down, connect and honour the living world around us.

Come and sit, listen, draw, write, meditate or simply be. No experience is needed – just an openness to tune into the subtle voices of water, wind, birds, and the earth with a specially curated soundtrack to enhance this. Together, we will make time to appreciate and acknowledge the stories, beauty and spirit of these often-overlooked waterways.

Suggestions of what to bring:
· Something to sit or lie on (mat, blanket, chair)
· Water, insect repellent
· A spirit of quiet and openness
