Whether you're brand new to canning or just want some company in the kitchen, this is the perfect workshop for you. We'll walk through the full jam-making process together, talk about ways to use up your berries (beyond toast!), and learn how to preserve one of spring’s sweetest gifts to enjoy all year long.

*Everything – $65
Includes:
🍓Hands-on jam-making experience
🍓Local strawberries
🍓All ingredients + canning supplies
🍓Your own jam (yield: ~four ½-pints & eight ¼-pints)
You’ll leave your jam overnight at CREW and pick it up the next week from Shady Hill Homestead (New Market, VA) or we’ll coordinate a Strasburg-area drop-off with Ashley.
*Berries & Education – $45
Includes:
🍓Full workshop experience
🍓4 quarts of local strawberries to take home
You’ll learn everything during class, then head home to preserve on your own time. Enough berries to make ~four ½-pints & eight ¼-pints of jam (or whatever size jars you prefer!).
📝 Education Only – $12
Just here to learn? Bring a notebook and enjoy the process with us. You’ll soak up all the canning know-how, but won’t take home berries, jars, or jam.
A quick heads-up:
Jam is sweet—on purpose! Unlike some low-sugar or salt-only preserves, strawberry jam requires a good amount of sugar to set properly and taste amazing. This is a treat. If that’s not your jam (😉), stay tuned for future classes featuring green beans, applesauce, tomatoes, and more!
*Local berries are pricey compared to some other local produce. This is reflected in the ticket price to cover berries and the kitchen space :)
