ISA THROWS PENTATHLON

A Throws Pentathlon is open only to ages 14 through to Masters. You don't need to be a Club Member to participate but nonmembers are required to fill out a Day Registration Form and pay a $20 fee.
Ever since the club acquired its weight throw implements (a double weighted hammer on a short chain) we have been able to include yet another local event to ensure Mount Isa athletes don't miss out on anything due to the remoteness of where we live.
In a Throws Pentathlon athletes are required to throw a Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, Hammer and Heavy Weight.
The event will be held on Sunday at Sunset Oval commencing at 9am.
The nature of the event is that as each athlete completes an event they are awarded points based on the distance thrown and age of the athlete. After all five events are completed the points are tallied up to determine the overall winners.
Pentathlons are a great way to level out the playing field as some athletes excel at one event while others can be good at all the events. It is also a great way to experience something new and see part of what the Mount Isa Athletics Club has to offer in a fun environment.
