We are excited to celebrate the Class of 2025 as they graduate from high school!
Below is some helpful information as the community plans for May 24.
Tickets: We plan to hold graduation outdoors at Coach Joe Popp Stadium. Tickets are not needed for entry. Students can bring as many guests as they'd like.
If the ceremony is moved indoors due to inclement weather, we must adhere to fire code and capacity limits. Tickets will be required for all spectators only if the ceremony is moved indoors.
Each Senior will receive the same number of rain tickets during graduation practice on May 23. Tickets are not replaceable if lost. Seniors will receive 4 rain tickets for entry to the Main Campus Gym and 3 rain tickets for entry to the PAC. Again, tickets are only necessary if the ceremony is moved indoors due to rain.
Watching Online: Graduation will be live streamed through the MGSD YouTube Channel. We will post a link on this event closer to the date.
Graduate arrival: Graduates are required to arrive at 7:45am dressed in their cap and gown. Graduates will meet in the Main Gym. Spectators report directly to the stadium.
Parking: Graduates are asked to park in A Lot and enter the Main Gym through the concourse on Blue Devil Blvd (where athletic concessions are sold). Spectators report directly to the stadium.
All parking behind Magnolia Campus is reserved for those with handicapped parking placards.
Attire: Graduates must wear the cap and gown issued by Southern Recognition. The gown must remain zipped. Students may bring a battery-operated fan. Bottles of water are provided to graduates as they process to the field. Spectators are encouraged to stay hydrated and weather-aware. Graduation is a special day that requires special, more formal attire.
After the Ceremony: Families and friends are invited to gather on the field for photographs after the ceremony ends.
Seniors will pick up diplomas in the field house. Graduates will not receive a diploma if they owe fees/fines for laptops, ROTC uniforms, athletic uniforms, calculators or library books that have not been returned. Students may also incur fines and fees from Child Nutrition or CCP. Notifications about fines/fees are communicated weekly to student throughout Spring semester. For questions about fees owed, please see Ms. Melanie Greenwell in the MHS Main Office.
