Join us for an uplifting, engaging and all-around fun time at our annual Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration. This free, family-friendly event will be an evening filled with music, enrichment, creativity, and most importantly connection.
Juneteenth, officially recognized as a federal holiday in 2021, commemorates June 19, 1865, the day enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. This day symbolizes liberation, progress, and the ongoing journey toward justice and equality.

Beyond the stage, immerse yourself in a variety of engaging games and activities for all ages.
· Get creative with art making stations and vibrant tie-dye
· Be a part of something wonderful and inspiring with Interactive Group Poetry
· Have fun with friends and family, playing outdoor games and group activities - mancala, double Dutch, hopscotch, and more
· Connect with local organizations at our community connection and resource tables.
· Savor delicious offerings from the selection of foods from Fish Fry Wright and Caribbean cuisine.
