�� Chase the Hessians Out of Town—250 Years Later!
Back in June 1778, Moorestown found itself under siege! As 7,700 British and Hessian troops retreated from Philadelphia during the Revolutionary War, they stormed through our peaceful village, looting homes, burning fields, stealing livestock—and yes, they even snatched 40 chickens from the Smith-Cadbury Mansion and roasted them in the parlor!
Now it’s YOUR turn to rewrite history. Lace up your shoes and join us for the Hessian Fun Run—a lively, family-friendly 1-mile adventure through historic Moorestown, retracing the steps of invading soldiers and returning stolen goods to their rightful homes!

� What’s in Your Revolutionary Runner’s Kit?
When you check in at Perkins Center for the Arts, you’ll receive a race-day backpack packed with:
• � A potato
• � An onion
• � A carrot
• � A turnip
• � A “stolen” coin
• � A rubber chicken!
As you run the route down Main Street toward Moorestown Friends School, you’ll “return” these reclaimed items to historic Witness Houses along the way—just as if you were helping villagers recover from the 1778 ransack!
� Drop your coin at Moore’s Tavern,
� Deliver the chicken to Smith-Cadbury Mansion (#12 High Street),
� And refresh yourself at the Indian Spring Site, just like British and Hessian troops may have done!

� Finish Line Celebration!
The run ends behind Moorestown Friends School (off Prospect Avenue), where we’ll gather for a post-run party with prizes, music, and merriment!
� Costumed Hessians will lead the race—catch them if you can!
�� Refill your backpack with fresh veggies at the finish line and take home the makings of your very own Victory Stew!
