Please join us on Saturday, May 17th at 1:00 PM for our first annual Mutt Strut: Sniffy Walk and Award Show!
Did you know that 10 minutes of sniffing is equivalent to one hour of walking? Sniffing provides mental stimulation and enrichment; it activates a dog’s brain and engages their senses— similar to us working on a puzzle or reading a good book.
This fundraiser combines the benefits of a sniffy walk with the fun of an award show. At the end of our walk, we’ll give out awards such as “best dressed,” “owner-lookalike,” or “canine congeniality.” Every dog wins an award, gets a complimentary bandana, some homemade dog treats, and some poop bags. Owners will be entered to win prize baskets with dog themed goodies and gift certificates from local pet businesses. There will be trainers on site for FREE advice!
💜Entry is $20 for one dog and $10 for each additional dog in your household.
💚Humans are FREE!
💜FOSTER dogs are FREE! (Fosters must be with a 501c3 rescue or from GCAC.)
💚T-Shirts in adult and kids sizes, and additional prize basket entries will be available for purchase.
💜Hidden eggs with treats and/or additional prize entries scattered throughout the trail.
💚Winner interviews with awards and pictures upon exit.
💜Registration opens at 1 PM, all awards given by 3 PM.
Purchase the entry fee through PayPal or Venmo and comment on the event and we’ll confirm we received it, or select “going” and bring cash.

Reminder: All leashed dogs are welcome! No off-leash dogs are allowed at the event. As a force free and fear free rescue, we discourage the use of pinch, prong, choke or shock collars and these collars will not be allowed at this event. Please do not approach any dog without asking permission of the handler, whether with a dog or alone. Dogs are animals and animals are by nature, unpredictable. So any dog interaction is at your own risk. Kids may attend the event, however, they may not approach unknown dogs without the handlers consent. For more information on fear/force free training, kid and dog interaction, proper park etiquette or any other questions, please message us. We’re here to help!
This is a rain-or-shine event; however, in the event of severe weather we will have a backup day scheduled in June.
