Dynamic Americana Singer Songwriter, Karen Jonas, from Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA, makes a first appearance at Montrose Playhouse, on, for us, a one-off Wednesday evening gig to fit in with her hectic Touring schedule. On her annual U.K. Tour, she has a back catalogue of seven Albums and a brand new collection of poetry, ” Poetic Evidence ” in tow.
Karen Jonas is a powerhouse Songwriter, Storyteller and poet, with a voice to match. Smart, witty, and rooted in femininity, Rolling Stone Germany called her ” a bit dangerous and a bit wicked”. Her original influences, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell, show a love of great songs and stories, which she blends with jazz, country and blues music.
Over her ten-year touring history, Karen Jonas has been a four-time WAMMIE ( Washington Area Music ) Award winner for Best Americana Artist, Mid Atlantic Song Contest winner and official SXSW and UK Americanafest Showcasing Artist.
