La Fonderie Darling inaugure sa programmation d’automne lors d’une soirée festive avec l'ouverture des expositions de Paula Valero Comín et Mallory Lowe Mpoka, présentées dans le cadre de la 19e édition de MOMENTA Biennale d'art contemporain.
Des ateliers créatifs et réflexifs, inspirés des expositions de la Biennale 2025 seront proposés tout au long de l’exposition. Chaque atelier débute par une visite guidée pour plonger au cœur des œuvres et de leurs enjeux, avant de laisser place à une activité collective.

PAULA VALERO COMÍN
Depuis 2020, l’Herbier résistant Rosa Luxembourg de Paula Valero Comín se déploie dans différentes villes, s’adaptant à chaque territoire, en vue de constituer un atlas. L’artiste associe des plantes locales, choisies pour leurs propriétés, à des femmes engagées dans la protection du vivant. En collaboration avec les communautés, elle compose une généalogie botanique, affective et politique, révélant des formes multiples de résistance. L’itération montréalaise poursuit cette exploration en tissant récits humains et biodiversité urbaine. Valero Comín met en perspective les liens entre écologie et luttes sociales, et invite à repenser notre place dans ces écosystèmes.

MALLORY LOWE MPOKA
Puisant dans les archives familiales léguées par sa grand-mère, Mallory Lowe Mpoka retrace l’histoire de ses ancêtres et, plus largement, celle d’un peuple marqué par les violences de la guerre d’indépendance du Cameroun dans les années 1950 et 1960. L’artiste nous invite à plonger dans ses héritages culturels, familiaux et artistiques pour revisiter et réinventer son histoire. Au cœur de l’exposition, une installation textile tisse une histoire à la fois intime et collective, mêlant récits passés, présents et futurs, attestés ou imaginés.

Fonderie Darling launches its fall programming with a festive evening celebrating the opening of exhibitions by Paula Valero Comín and Mallory Lowe Mpoka, part of the 19th edition of MOMENTA Biennale d'art contemporain.
Creative and reflective workshops, inspired by the Biennale 2025 exhibitions, will be offered throughout the exhibition. Each workshop begins with a guided tour to immerse yourself in the works and their themes, before giving way to a collective activity.

PAULA VALERO COMÍN
Since 2020, Paula Valero Comín’s Rosa Luxemburg Resistant Herbarium has been unfolding in different cities, adapting to each specific territory, in order to form an atlas. Valero Comín pairs local plant species, chosen for their properties, with women engaged in protecting all forms of life. Developed in collaboration with communities, the project generates an affective, botanical, and political genealogy that reveals diverse forms of resistance. The Montréal iteration continues this exploration by weaving together human stories and urban biodiversity. Valero Comín highlights the connections between ecology and social struggles, inviting us to reconsider our place within these ecosystems.
This exhibition is presented as part of MOMENTA Contemporary Art Biennale and produced in partnership with Fonderie Darling. The presentation of this exhibition is made possible thanks to the support of the Institut français and Acción Cultural Española.
MALLORY LOWE MPOKA
Drawing from the family archives passed down by her grandmother, Mallory Lowe Mpoka retraces the history of her ancestors and, more broadly, that of a people marked by the violence surrounding the Cameroonian War of Independence in the 1950s and 1960s. Lowe Mpoka invites us to immerse ourselves in her cultural, familial, and artistic heritage as she revisits and reinvents her history. At the heart of the exhibition, a textile installation weaves together an intimate and collective history, intertwining past, present, and future narratives, true and imagined.
