À l'occasion du 111ème anniversaire de Frankie Manning (26 mai 1914), nous échangerons sur les manières de rendre hommage à l'Ambassadeur du Lindy Hop lui-même. Des membres des Northern Lights ainsi que du Hellzapoppin' Then and Now seront présents pour partager leurs expériences dansées de commémoration à Frankie Manning. C'est l'occasion d'en apprendre davantage sur cette figure légendaire de la danse et de se questionner sur notre rapport à l'héritage des Aînés.

À propos des Monday Hangout : tous les lundis, Hélène vous propose de partager un moment chaleureux pour échanger sur les aspects culturels des danses afro-descendantes en compagnie de personnes invitées et membres de la communauté. Join us this Monday, May 19 at 8.30PM for a special celebration at Cat's Corner!
For Frankie Manning's 111th birthday (May 26, 1914), we'll be discussing ways of paying tribute to the Lindy Hop Ambassador himself. Members of the Northern Lights and Hellzapoppin' Then and Now will be on hand to share their dance experiences commemorating Frankie Manning. It's an opportunity to learn more about this legendary dance figure and to question our relationship with the heritage of our elders.

About Monday Hangouts: every Monday, Hélène invites you to share a warm moment of exchange on the cultural aspects of Afro-descendant dances with guests and members of the community. Each week, we'll open this space to share our knowledge of jazz culture, strengthen understanding of our dances, socialize with peers and develop a greater sense of belonging to the Cat's Corner Community. Video and film screenings, open conversations, potluck and clothes swap, open practices and dance jams: it's going to be a sweet spring at Cat's Corner.
