Description:
Please join us July 19th 1-3 PM at the Monson Gallery Store as we feature local Author Suzanne Steen for a book signing event. She was born in Bath, Maine and grew up in the Mid Coast area. After studying Marine drafting at Morse High School and attending a year of college, she worked at Bath Iron Works as a Draftsman, C.A.D. Designer & Supervisor. After 20 years she left BIW to join the family business in Bath; Bert's Oil Service, Bert's Service Station and Bath Bus Service.
In 2008, she married the love of her life, Robby and lived in Woolwich. They spent weekends and vacations coming to the Moosehead area to camp, ATV, snowmobile and boat. Eventually, they bought a camp and in 2018, built a new camp. In 2020, they moved to Greenville permanently to enjoy a quieter pace and slower lifestyle with their two pugs, Mabel and Winnie.
Suzanne started painting in 2018 after attending a couple of Paint Nights and then watched You Tube videos to improve her technique. In 2023 She wrote, illustrated, and self-published three children's books, the Wilson Pond Babies series, in an effort to showcase her artwork and highlight the beauty of Maine and the Moosehead Lake area.
