Join Waypoint Crew for a 17km Chiltern Hills Summer Hike (Your Guide: Abi)

Waypoint Crew is all about bringing together a close-knit crew of outdoor lovers and adventure seekers (20s-40s) through exploring epic routes in London, the UK, and beyond.

This time we’re heading to the Chiltern Hills for a scenic 17km circular hike, starting and ending at Monks Risborough train station. From the station we’ll head straight into the countryside where we’ll spend the day exploring picturesque farmland, protected nature reserves and magical woodland. Our route will take us up to Coombe Hill, where we’ll be rewarded with great views of the surrounding landscape. We’ll then loop back toward the station, wrapping up the day at the Red Lion Pub for a well-deserved drink.

🥾 Meet Your Guide:

Meet Abi – A fellow weekend warrior and qualified Mountain Leader who prides herself on cramming as much adventure as possible into ‘weekends + annual leave’. When she’s not leading hikes for Waypoint Crew, you’ll find her hosting women’s adventure holidays, teaching expedition skills to DofE groups or putting in the miles on her road bike!

🕙 Event Schedule:

11:00am – 11:30am: Meet outside Monks Risborough Station to connect with your fellow hikers and kick off the day. If you’re travelling by train, there are regular direct services from London Marylebone which arrive at 1 minute past the hour.

11:30am: The hike begins! Please be ready to depart promptly. If you’re running late contact Abi Devaney (contact details shared in the event WhatsApp group)

1:30pm (approx.): Time for a well-deserved picnic with great views from Coombe Hill–don’t forget to bring your own packed lunch!

5:00pm: The hike wraps up at The Red Lion Pub in WhiteLeaf, where we’ll celebrate the day with a hard-earned pint in the cosy country pub setting. From here it’s a 20-minute walk (1.5km) back to Monks Risborough Station for the trains to London.
