Join us for Wheatscouts’ Irish Session with Trillium Irish Band. This Michigan-based group brings the energy, beauty, and an irresistible sound from the Emerald Island that makes people want to dance and play. We’ll focus on helping kids gain an appreciation for and an interest in playing traditional Celtic music – and playing with us in a “session” format. Part of Celtic music’s magic is that almost any instrument works in a session: fiddle, flute, whistle, guitar, keys, accordion, percussion, you name it! (well, maybe not brass). We’ll go through a few easy tunes and take kids at whatever level they are at to inspire the lilt and feel of playing Irish music. Family and friends -- also come join us too for a joyful afternoon of music, laughter, and community.

About Wheatscouts: Wheatland Music Organization (501(c)(3)) children’s program was started at Wheatland in 1987 to introduce children to folk arts and traditional music in a casual, kid-friendly setting. From learning about different square & contra dances, songs, storytelling, string & percussion music instruments to crafts & activities like bookbinding, nature walks and tie-dye - we focus on finding new ways to teach the old ways.
Wheatscouts events take place the 2nd Saturday (October – May) 11 AM till 1 PM
The event includes a break with healthy snacks provided. Feel free to bring your own food if you or your
child has dietary restrictions or to share with the group!
