Fatima will open the library doors and warmly welcome us into the heart of Ocean View. She will share the story of how the library has evolved alongside the community, playing a vital role in local change, forging partnerships, and supporting initiatives that foster growth. Fatima will highlight how the library has adapted its skills and technology to meet the specific needs of today’s educational programmes and activities. With pride, she will speak about the recognition the Ocean View Library has received, including awards that celebrate its impact and innovation.
Speaker:
Speaker, Fatima Kiel, has 37 years of librarian experience and was nominated as The Super Hero of Libraries! Born in Simon's Town, her family was part of the forced removals, she grew up in Ocean View where she matriculated. She later went on to study Library Science. She is a mother of twin daughters, a 1st time grandmother and a proud and passionate librarian.
Historical Association Membership and other fees:
Membership fees for 2025: R50.00 per person (now due). Payable at the FHV Museum or at the meeting
Members: R20.00 payable at the door
Visitors: R30.00 payable at the door
