Northern Indiana Rueda Summit (2nd annual!)

After the great success of last summer's event with our Valpo Salsa Dancing friends, we're back for more--this time in our neck of the woods! Join us for an exciting afternoon of Rueda de Casino workshops led by John Holt of Valpo Salsa Dancing and Laura Williamson of Rueda Michiana. This beginner-friendly series will take you through the basics with foundational moves and styling tips, culminating in a round-robin style workshop to advance your dance vocabulary and Rueda repertoire.

No partner or experience necessary to learn this fun communal dance style. More experienced dancers and casineros are guaranteed to learn something new with this historic (yep, we have a flair for the dramatic) coming together of two Rueda / Latin dance communities in Northern Indiana from Valparaiso and South Bend.

Schedule*:
12:30-1:00 - Arrive & check in
1:00-1:45 - Workshop: Foundations of Rueda de Casino (styling, guapea, simple calls)
1:45-2:00 - Break
2:00-2:45 - Workshop: Building on the Basics (enchufe / enchufla variations)
2:45-3:00 - Break
3:00-3:45 - Workshop: Advance Your Dance (new moves for your Rueda repertoire)
3:45-4:00 - Open wheels
