NCPOS June Meeting, Potting Party

Since the memorial service for John Welfare is scheduled for the same time as our normal meeting, we are pushing the monthy program back 1 week so members can attend if they choose.

For those of you who have not done this before it works like this. The price includes plant, tag (you have to fill it out), potting mix and pot to put it in. There is no better deal! Plants are not blooming size but most should bloom in 1 – 2 years. One of each per person until everyone who wants one has one then it’s a free for all on the remaining plants. I’ve been told that the Vascostylis might be a 3 year wait. Most of the plants arrived today. So here what I see. Arthurara Sea Snake 'Unforgettable' Nice size plant but smaller plants then similar plants purchased previous year. Oncidesa Gower Ramsey 'Orange Delight' nice size plants should bloom in a year. Psychopsis Mendenhall 'Hildos' FCC/AOS decent size for the price. Degarmoara Pinot Princess 'Nite Naulege' smaller plants then expected. Might be because they are a newer introduction and they go out as soon as they are big enough. Acacallis cyanea these were the most expensive seedlings but decent size and different. Vascostylis (Mishima Lime x Perr. Luke Thai) ‘Boy’ are still not in but I’ve been told they are on the small size and might be 3 years until bloom. I decided to get them anyway because I don’t think I will find better.
