Since 1892, Music in the Parks has provided residents and families opportunities to gather and enjoy local music throughout the summer. Since its inception thousands of free concerts have taken place. Concerts are weekly and vary from classic rock, hip hop, international, funk and many more genres of music.
This week at the Lake Harriet Bandshell we are hosting Atomic Beat, a new wave rock band.
"Atomic Beat rocks the beat of 80s new wave and rock! Our setlist dives deep into the music of artists that fans love, which is rarely played by other bands: Blondie, The Cars, The B-52s, Tears for Fears, The Cure, Cheap Trick, The Police, Foreigner, Men at Work, Duran Duran, ELO, Yes, Toto, Thomas Dolby, A-ha, Talking Heads and more! A little something for everyone.
Five seasoned and passionate musicians from the Twin Cities, blend the catchy synth beats and edgy guitar riffs of the 80s to deliver LIVE renditions of classics into a fun, energized performance that transports audiences of all generations back in time.
Whether playing an outdoor festival, an indoor theater, rockin’ a local brewery or bar, or even cruisin’ down the St. Croix river, Atomic Beat ensures that the spirit of the 80s lives on! Eat to the beat, drink and be merry!"
