After experiencing a serious misdiagnosis and the harms of the traditional mental health system firsthand, Sara Stamschror-Lott, MA, LMFT knew she couldn’t stay silent. Refusing to over-diagnose and pathologize people who simply needed high-quality, trauma-informed care, Sara followed her conscience—and co-founded Creative Kuponya with her partner, Jamil.

Since 2017, they’ve worked to reimagine mental health care—offering therapy without the requirement of diagnosis and creating access where there once were walls. After losing their offices during the civil unrest following the M**der of George Floyd, they launched the Creative Kuponya Therapy Fund, ensuring therapy remains accessible and free of barriers. (And providing thousands of no cost therapy sessions!)
