Get ready for a pep rally with purpose! Homecoming: Lake St is a joyful public art event celebrating our urban forest and community resilience—and you’re invited.

We’ll kick things off with a spirited tree march from the Longfellow Community Council to Lake Street, where we’ll plant a new tree with full fanfare: cheerleaders (yes, the U of M’s international champs!), a brass band, games, art, and plenty of joy.
This isn’t just about planting a tree—it’s about rooting ourselves in place, honoring the past, and growing toward a brighter future together.

Come cheer for trees, for Lake Street, and for each other. 🌱🎺
