On Friday morning, September 5, from 10:00 – 11:00am, “They Did it Their Way” continues with a Chautauqua of Etta Place, member of Butch Cassidy’s Wild Bunch, as portrayed by Barbara Lewicki.
Etta Place was the lover and assumed wife of Pennsylvania-born Harry Alonzo Longabaugh, aka the “Sundance Kid,” and a peripheral associate of the Wild Bunch, the outlaw gang headed up by Robert LeRoy Parker, aka “Butch Cassidy.” Those who met Place described her as strikingly pretty, with a nice smile, cordial, refined, educated, and an excellent rifle shooter. The Pinkerton Detective Agency described her in 1906 as having “classic good looks”.
Barbara Lewicki is an outdoor enthusiast and photographic artist who has travelled all fifty states in the U.S., as well as over forty countries. Lewicki is also a student of Chautauqua.
This event is free for all to attend.
Please bring your own seating. During all events, no pets are allowed - certified service animals only. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Guests are welcome to bring snacks and beverages, as no food or beverages will be sold at these events. All events are held outdoors.
