Uncovering and understanding the fantastic microbes that surround us through metagenomic data analysis
Hands-on workshop led by the KBase team for university students introducing KBase ( https://www.kbase.us/)for metagenomic analysis, from raw sequencing data to high-quality metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs). Participants will learn data QC, assembly, binning, functional and taxonomic annotation, and will interpret and present their results.
Info: Introduction to KBase and platform setup
Info: MetaG set-up, raw reads QC , processing, taxonomy, and assembly runs set up
Info: Compare assemblies, set up binning tools, interpret taxonomy, interpret bin optimization results, assess bin quality, and set up functional annotation
Info: Set up MAG taxonomy, interpreting functional annotation and taxonomy, build phylogenetic trees + prepare results presentation
Info: Student Presentations
