Vince Skillcorn Memorial Summer Swiss Tournament is back with Six rounds. In memory of Vince Skillcorn and will be
open to eligible rated Cleveland Chess Association members. (See below for criteria!) The last three years of this
tournament have been successful. This year the rating is open to players rated 2000 or below, in January rating list!
There will be 8 rounds this year, see rounds dates below!
Format and Rules
1) All players must be a member of English Chess Federation to play all rounds
2) Each round will be played every fortnight.
3) Number of entries will be limited to 40 players (some analogue clocks may have to be used if entries are over 26)
4) Two byes can be used, but must be requested a week before the start of the next round!
5) Ratings: -
a) Highest rated player, who can enter from another CCA Chess Club, Will match highest rated Billingham
Synthonia Chess Club member of January ratings list.
b) Rating will be rounded, up or down, to the nearest 50 points of highest rated player from BSCC which is 1994,
therefore non-BSCC players will be limited to 2000 or below.)
c) All entrant’s ratings used, will be from CCA January rating list and any tweaks by the CCA Grader to anyone's
rating will apply!
d) If an entrant has no January rating, the latest published rating will be used throughout the tournament.
e) If an entrant has no rating at the start of tournament, a rating will be estimated!
6) Games will be played with Cleveland Individual rules. Black player is the home player and all games will be played at
Billingham Synthonia Chess Club on each round date, see below!
7) Entry fee of £5 and all entry fees will be used for trophies or prize money. Prizes will be decided by Billingham
Synthonia Chess Club.
