Sound Poetry & Found Text Workshop with Bob Beagrie

Times: Workshop: 10am-3pm/Performance: 3:30pm

A full day of sonic exploration and polyphonic writing with Bob Beagrie.The workshop begins with a group walk (a derive) around Middlesbrough Town Centre gathering recorded sounds and found text as spoken and written words. This is followed by a collaborative curation of found materials into a NEW TEXT FOR THE TOWN, forged from the scraps, rags and fragments of different voices, registers, lexis, languages gathered during the walk. Through performance games and soundings the text will then be transformed into a group performance piece to be presented on the evening in a public showing.
