The Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum at Martin State Airport in Middle River, MD will be honoring the World War II The Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum will be honoring WWII warfront and homefront participants who contributed to bringing the war to an end. This year, on the 80th anniversary weekend of the war’s end, the Museum invites WWII veterans and people who kept the homefront in motion when the men went to war, to attend and be recognized for service to their country. As 2025 will sadly be the last major anniversary year with WWII participants attending, we encourage families and organizations with veterans, Rosies (women who did jobs typically done by men) and other WWII participants to bring them to this event honoring the Greatest Generation. So that we can best honor those attending, please rsvp to

And to get into the spirit of the day, attendees of all ages are invited to dress in 1940’s fashion, uniforms, and Rosie the Riveter attire. For families whose WWII members have passed, bring an 8 x 10 photo with their name on it. A 1940's era photo or from any other time is welcome. Veterans and Rosies and one accompanying adult for these honorees receive free admission. Event visitors are $8 adults and $3 children. As space is limited, visitors planning to attend are requested to rsvp at

During this event, the Museum will be joining organizations uniting for Labor Day weekend’s "Ring a Bell for Rosies” events across America and in other nations. The annual bell ringing for the women of World War II is full of special meaning. After WW II, the people of the Netherlands gave the people of the United States a carillon to thank America for its help during and after the war. This carillon stands tall between Arlington National Cemetery and the Iwo Jima Memorial in Washington, DC. Each time the bells of the carillon ring, people of the Netherlands are thanking the people of the US for their help. In 2015, Rosie organizations worked with the Netherlands Embassy, the National Liberation Museum in Nijmegan, Netherlands, and the King and Queen of the Netherlands with bell ringing ceremonies to thank American Rosies. For this August 2025 Museum event, visitors to the aviation event are invited to bring a bell and join in the ringing for Rosies, for soldiers and all who helped bring the war to an end for freedom 80 years ago.
