Connecting Pieces was born from resilience, love, and the belief that no one should have to face chronic illness alone. Our founder, Keyla, said, “As an ostomy patient and mom raising a son with gastrointestinal challenges, I know how overwhelming the journey can be. I wanted to create a space where others could feel seen, supported, and understood.”

That space has grown into a movement—supporting individuals and locals like Missy, who’s had Crohn’s disease since she was 14 and has undergone multiple surgeries, including an ostomy. Or a local MA student, and young ostomy patient who once had to rely on a ziplock bag when supplies weren’t accessible. And Gigi, a Lawrence local student courageously living with not one but two ostomy pouches, who will be honored in a special segment of the show. These incredible stories remind us that strength doesn’t always look the same—but it always deserves to be seen.
