We, the Goths of the GNO area, are going to Piccadilly in Metairie for dinner.
Answers to your burning questions:
Q: Why on Earth are the goths meeting up at Piccadilly?
A: Why not?! If you can't be goth in non-goth spaces, are you even goth? We just want to have a lovely meal together, and Piccadilly is a nostalgic meeting place for those of us from the South. Also, it's kinda funny!
Q: What should I wear?
A: Since many of us will be coming from work, I'd say this is a casual event. Piccadilly tends to be rather chilly, so I would not wear anything too revealing. You may even want a light sweater or wrap! Also, this is a family restaurant in Jefferson Parish, so keep that in mind and be respectful.
Q: I'm not from here. Picca-what?
A: Piccadilly is a southern institution. It is a family cafeteria-style restaurant. My family always went to Piccadilly after funerals, which is goth af. They have affordable prices and everyone can get what they want.
Q: Do they have vegetarian and vegan options?
A: Yes. I recommend getting a 4 side-dish plate. Ask which options meet your dietary needs. As a vegetarian, I would usually get fried okra, turnip greens, broccoli casserole, and carrot soufflé. The 4 side plate comes with a bread selection.
Q: I've never been there. I'm nervous what to expect.
A: No problem! It's so easy. Grab a tray and utensil set. The walk down the line and grab or request what you want. Typically there's a lot of cold salads and starter dishes, followed by the hot entrees, then side dishes, next is bread selections, then finally the dessert and drink station! There's a register at the end where they'll ring you up and you pay. We're all on separate tickets and there are no reservations. We'll sit together at tables in the dining room. Bring cash to tip our waiter, who will be by to replenish drinks, bring sauces, etc..
Q: How many doll-hairs will this set me back? 💸
A: It depends on what you get and how hungry you are. There are daily specials. Some meals start at about $11. They have a promotion right now that your entire meal (entrée, 2 sides, bread, a drink, and dessert!) is $19.99 if you mention the special at check-out (exclusions apply).
Q: What kind of alcohol do they have?
A: They don't! The afterparty is at Siberia!
Q: Ugh. This event sounds lame. Why don't you choose something else?
A: This event is about having fun, nostalgic food, and coming together as a community. You certainly don't have to come and your presence will not be missed!!

A: Absolutely! Beloved by families across the South, Piccadilly is very ADA compliant, and they even have wheelchairs available.
