Picnic in the Park: Celebrating 80 Years of Morden Hall Park Open to the Public

Join us for a free and joyful community picnic in the Rose Garden to mark 80 years of Morden Hall Park being open to the public and National Picnic Week.

Inspired by Gilliat Hatfeild, who gifted the park to the National Trust and championed children’s access to nature, this celebration will echo the playful spirit of the garden parties he once hosted.

Enjoy a day of:
• Live music from the Wandle Concert Band, Merton Youth Jazz Orchestra, and Merton Youth Concert Band
• Garden games for all ages
• Meditative art therapy sessions with Sarah Jane De Neumann
• A relaxed atmosphere perfect for picnicking among the roses

Bring: picnic food, blankets, and weather-appropriate clothing.
Please note: Food and drink are not provided, but the Potting Shed Café and Stableyard Café will be open. Large groups are kindly asked to picnic outside the Rose Garden.

Getting here: Public transport is recommended as the car park may fill quickly.
