Join us for Pointscore Race 1 at Pechey State Forest, Hampton
This is a 2-heat race – Saturday evening, Sunday morning.
You are not required to attend both heats. 😊
While this is a race weekend, we always like to ensure there is time to spend supporting and developing Mushers in the sport. So, if you are new, or have some specific things you want to work on with yourself and your team, please reach out and following the racing, we can spend time with you to work through these things.

Drive south on the New England Highway for approximately 9km⤵️
Turn right off the New England Highway into the forest roads
Follow dog signs to race site 🐕🐕
🚗 Coming from Esk township 🚗
Turn onto Esk-Hampton rd from Brisbane Valley Highway
Drive approximately 45km ⤴️
Turn right onto the New England Highway
Drive approximately 2km
Turn left off the New England Highway into the forest roads

Race Check in will be open from 3:30pm to 4:00pm. Please ensure you have completed your entry form online prior to the day.

What to bring:
- Drinking water for you and your dog 💦💧🥛
- Something to secure your dog (stake out line, secure crate etc) 🪢⛓️
- Suitable lights for mushing after dark or before day break
- Helmet 🪖
- Safety kit
- Scooter, push bike, rig 🛴🚲🛷
- Spare clothes in case it rains 🧦🧥
- Means of collecting and removing your dogs poo 💩 from the forest. 🚯
- Wear comfortable clothes and footwear 👟🥾
- Any dog wear you think you will need
If you are camping:
- something warm and suitable to sleep in
- Any food and drinks you may require
🚫There are no toilets or any amenities in the forest, at the training / race site.
There is NO smoking 🚭 or fires 🔥permitted in the forest.

Crows Nest Tourist Park is approximately 9km north from the race site. This is a fully functioning caravan park. Please contact them directly to confirm availiablity and bookings.
Hampton Visitor Centre is approximately 2km south from the race site. This is a free camp off the main road. No bookings required.
There are toilets 🚽 at the information centre.
Good lights are a must if you are competing in the night heat.
This race counts towards the NEGRC Queensland Pointscore.
