The Mystery of Douglas Road: Mendon Ponds Hike with author Jack Butler

The Mystery of Douglas Road takes hikers on a unique journey to uncover who Douglas Road was named after. It’s a more physically demanding 2 mile, 2 hour walk that goes off trail with an ascent of a branch of the East Esker. All walks will include the history of the park, a view of at least one of the glacially formed features, a visit to a site of a former resident who was farming in the area prior to dedication of the park, some detail about the flora and fauna with that area as well as additional local history.
