This year's AGM will be held on Monday 18th August
MESSAGE FROM NEIL RAWLINS - ADHS CHAIR
The Annual General Meeting of ADHS will be held on Monday 18th August at 7pm in Ancrum Village Hall.
We will discuss the year’s business and hear a short talk from Ian Hill of HARP Archaeology who will be running the next Dig on the Mantle Walls field in September.
As my wife Louise and I are in the process of moving, I will be stepping down from the committee. Also, we will be losing the help of Emily Hart as she begins her further studies in Glasgow.
This therefore means that it is now even more imperative for us to have additional help if the Society is to continue. This is not an onerous task (and means a monthly meeting in the pub) but would involve for example such things as helping to set up for the monthly talks or assisting with manning the visitor tent during the coming Dig.
Our group has managed to complete several projects in recent years and the new shed to house finds from the Mantle Walls field is now installed beside the village hall. This year’s season of Winter Talks is now in place, but without additional help this will be the last winter we are able to organise them.
I hope that you will give serious thought to attending the AGM or if unavailable on that date getting in touch to offer assistance in whatever way you feel able.
Help it or lose it.
Neil Rawlins
