After a brief hiatus from the dancefloor, Upstairs//Downstairs returns with what feels like our most significant moment yet. For over five years we have dedicated ourselves to curating forward-thinking events and championing artists working within dub, bass, and the broader percussive continuum.
The next chapter sees that commitment evolve into the launch of our own record label. Our debut release, Anti Militarist Dubs, comes from Italian-born sonic wizard Big Hands, delivering weighty low-end architecture and broken pressure built for heavy systems. The EP also features a collaborative cut with long-time U//D favourite Pugilist, who joins us on launch duties.
To mark the occasion, we have gathered a lineup of some of our closest friends and key voices in the scene, united by a shared love for deep frequencies and sound system immersion. Pugilist, Moopie (delving into a rare dubstep set), Emelyne, and Charms will guide us through the night on our favourite in-house system in Melbourne/Naarm.
