Now that the Oil’s have finished touring we all need an excuse to meet up again and talk about all things Midnight Oil. The inaugural Boat to Willy in Nov 2018 was a huge success and so were the follow up events in Nov 2019, Feb 2021, Nov 2021, Nov 2022, Nov 2023 and Nov 2024 As the title suggests this is the 8th incarnation of the event in Melbourne and we’re on again for a Friday night. The cost is also the same as last time - $99. So come along and party with some like minded Powdies as we cruise down the Yarra and out into Port Phillip Bay. It should be a memorable night with many local and interstate guests, not to mention the handing over of the coveted Golden Flipper from last year’s winner to this year’s worthy contender. A deposit of $500 to secure the booking needs to be paid, so I'm hoping I can get a few of you paid up ASAP. Please read and understand the following instructions: 1. No restrictions, but there is a limit of 75 passengers. 2. The cost per head is still AUD $99 (same price as last time) 3. The date is Friday 21st November 2025 between 7- 10:30pm. We can arrange pre and post cruise logistics and catch ups closer to the event. 4. Your $99 will cover the cost for the boat, finger food and drinks from the bar. It’s all included, so no more to pay! 5. If you intend to go you can pay per person in multiples of $99 via PayPal. Just search for me or use; PayPal.me/AnthonyBatten and make payments in AUD. Make sure you include your name and how many you are paying for, e.g. Anthony Batten x 2 and the payment would be $198, Payment can also be made by direct bank transfer, so if you want to pay with this method please message me. 6. Entertainment on board will be Oils music (obviously!) via the PA on the boat, but I would welcome offers of live music. I am again hoping to secure the services of Alex Hell, Neil Denton, Terry Murray and John-Paul Calamatta if that’s possible, as they’ve proved themselves to be an excellent house band in the past. 7. A small team of helpers might be required to assist me on the night. 8. This will be a Friday night event, but it is also child friendly if you want to bring your kids along. There is a discounted rate for U18s so please contact me regarding this. The event will run from 7:30pm - 10:30pm. 9. The boat will again pickup passengers from 131 Harbour Esplanade, which is at the docklands end of Marvel Stadium. The pickup point is the “Cow up a Tree” sculpture, so you can’t miss it. It is well serviced by public transport - trams run to the end of Collins St or you can catch a train to Southern Cross Station and walk from there. This boat requires a minimum spend of $3000 which is about 30 participants. We’re hoping to get as many of you along to this event as possible to make this night a success. So, if you missed the last Boat to Goat in Sydney earlier this year, jump onboard this cruise!
